Learn the entire catalog of ballboy

So, a while ago, I made it my goal to learn the catalogs of all of my favorite bands, and I thought it’d help me a be a better musician and guitarist overall. I made a list of what bands I wanted to learn the discographies of, but I did not fully define what I wanted to do to accomplish this. It’s important to set very specific goals, if not purely for motivation. So, I’ve put the artists’ catalogs that I want to learn in order, from least difficult to most difficult. It is important to note that Local H is excluded from this list because it requires a particular kind of guitar. More on this in a bit.
My goal is to try to get through an album a week, but, as I move on, I’m sure that will become more difficult as the albums become more difficult. For example, one Jimi Hendrix album could take months, and don’t even get me started on Paul Gilbert.
Still, as ridiculous as a goal as this is, whenever a musician has played with Paul Gilbert, they’re always impressed by his knowledge of the catalog of basically every band… And this isn’t just any old band too. This isn’t Nirvana and ballboy and The Offspring (like me). This is The Beatles (a ridiculous catalog), Van Halen, The Who, etc. I’d really like to get to that point. It really shows dedication. And I can acknowledge that it might not be until my 30s or later that I finish learning all of these. That’s why it’s a lifelist.
Anyway, here is the list of what I want to do… First, I want to go album by album for each band, starting with the earliest album chronologically and working my way to the most recent album. Next, I want to learn any b-sides or alternate/live versions (to a reasonable extent… I’m not going to learn every single guitar solo from every Primus bootleg I have, but I want to figure out their main structures and cues)…
Now, what it means to actually even learn a song becomes an issue. The following criteria are what I’m looking for:
Be able to play the main guitar parts (rhythm and lead)
If there is no main guitar, a guitar version. If it’s chords on a piano, I want to learn all of those on guitar. Or maybe piano. But the main chord progression. There will certainly be exceptions to this, and I’ll bring those up in upcoming entries.
The guitar solos (or the equivalent, if it is a flute or I don’t know… god knows what… Just a really important part)
For certain bands, particularly, Local H, a special guitar is required. When Scott Lucas plays, he has a bass pickup attached to his guitar, and has two outputs, one for the bass, which goes to a bass pedal and bass amp, and one for a guitar. I want to make a guitar with this set-up, and be able to play all Local H songs in the same manner, switching back and forth between the pedals. I feel this is the only true way of REALLY learning the catalog. Otherwise, I might be playing the chords in a different way than Scott does.
So, in terms of the actual method of learning all of this music, I have this order:
1) Play through the album while listening to it.
2) Notate how I played them, make it as short hand as I possibly can (a lot of the ballboy songs will be stuff that takes up less than a line like Cm-Eb-Bb=main riff)
3) Put the album on shuffle and be able to play the entire thing without sheet music
4) Be able to play through the album entirely without sheet music or a recording
5) Add all of the songs that I learned to a “Repertoire” playlist, and, after finishing an album, go through a fair amount of this playlist, and be able to play through it without sheet music. This will help to keep the older stuff I learned in my head.
Anyway, the first artist I’m working on is ballboy, and the first album is Club Anthems. Next up is A Guide to the Daylight Hours. I’m going to try to get both of them finished by the end of the next week… Hopefully with another album, even. We’ll see. Here’s the to-do list for ballboy:
Club Anthems
A Guide for the Daylight Hours
The Sash My Father Wore and Other Stories
The Royal Theatre
I Worked on the Ships
B-sides/Acoustic arrangements
Future progress on this lifelist item: 2, 3, 4

I think maybe we should just start booking gigs here in Phoenix. I will find some that you and I can both make in terms of dates. If we get booked, I’ll really quickly record some shit and send it to you, and we’ll basically jam some songs off of that at the show since we won’t really have time to rehearse.
Just to get the ball rolling and play some fun shows. What do you think?

August – Present: Our dishwasher has had a few inches of water in it since the first time it was used. This wasn’t noticed until much later, when there were more pressing maintenance issues to address, and since then, it has been a string of issues, so a maintenance request was not put in, as this was not as important to us, and with the delayed reaction the maintenance staff seems to have, we figured we could live with this, moreso than the other things.
September through late November: Our A/C began leaking shortly after moving in. Shortly after putting in a maintenance request, it was fixed, but left with a large hole in our ceiling. Upon contacting the office, we were told that someone would be in to fix it over the next few days. A few weeks later, another request was put in, and a few days after that, the air conditioning was turned back on, and the hole was covered up. Within the next day, it was leaking again. Again, we told the office about this, and a few days later, the air conditioning was fixed, and, again, a hole was left in our ceiling, as we were told that someone would be back shortly to fix this. After waiting about a month, as this was not a terribly pressing issue, we called upon maintenance again, and they closed it.
October – Present: Our light in the bathroom stopped working. The issue was not a burnt out light bulb, as many working light bulbs were tried. A maintenance request was put in for this as an electrical issue, but never addressed. Approximately a week later, after tinkering with the light a bit more, I was able to fix the problem, but nobody had come. Within the last week, the light stopped working again. No request was put in for this yet, so I can understand why it hasn’t been addressed yet.
Early December: Our toilet has been clogged multiple times. Having used plungers and augers, it would still not unclog, so a maintenace request was filed online. This was not addressed until a few days later, when they did something to unclog it. Unfortunately, they did not do a good enough job, because, by the end of that day, it was clogged again. Again, plungers and augers were used, and they did not do the job. An online maintenance request was put in, and the “emergency maintenance” phone line was called, and within a few days of not having heard anything or having our toilet fixed, we put in another maintenance request online. Finally, two days later, it was fixed, and we haven’t had any problems with the toilet since.
Mid-December: One night, while cleaning dishes our kitchen sink had begun to drain slowly, so we turned on the garbage disposal, which had worked previously. It cleared the kitchen sink of water, but later, it was discovered that the water had simply moved to the bathroom sink. The bathroom sink started to flood with water and small bits of food, and the area under the sink flooded a bit as well. Eventually, the water level in the sink went back down, and a maintenance request was submitted. It kept filling up and draining for about two days, and then simply stopped, with both sinks partially flooded. After a few more days, the bathroom sink began to overflow onto the floor, and the “emergency maintenance” line was called. It was at night, and we had received no response to either of our requests so far. The next day, it began to overflow wildly, and the emergency maintenance line was called again. Someone came nearly instantly this time, and the problem was fixed.
Early November: This appeared to be a issue throughout the whole building, if not the whole complex, so I’m sure the office was aware of this, but for many days, both our air conditioning and heater were turned off. This made it difficult when, during the days, it was hot, and, during the nights, while my roommate and I were both trying to sleep, it was very cold.
Mid-October-Early January: This is not a maintenance issue, and it was never brought up to the office, so I can understand why this was not addressed. Our upstairs neighbor was playing his music very loud one night in early October, so I went upstairs to try to talk to him, trying to be as friendly as possible. After introducing myself, he snapped at me and said “So you want me to turn down the music or what?”. I said “Yes, thanks”, and he did. Since then, he had played his music very loud multiple times, but I had never confronted him about it again because, over that period of time, I overhead him screaming at whom I can only assume was his girlfriend, as well as the sound of slamming doors, and loud thumps. I had heard evidence of his anger multiple times, including him screaming at someone on the phone, and another incident of him yelling at another man to leave his apartment, calling him, as he was leaving, “A stupid f**king n***er”. The issue of him yelling at the other man happened on the 29th of December. It didn’t occur to me to notify the office about these incidents, and I apologize, but I didn’t want to get them into this as well.
Tonight, Friday the 2nd of December, he played his music particularly loud, enough so that it was shaking our apartment. After about an hour, I decided that I was fed up, and called the police to file a noise complaint at about 7. Shortly afterward, I heard him banging violently on the rails, which I have heard him do many times before. About 40 minutes later, a police officer came to talk to him. I had not been outside in a while, but the officer told me that the man upstairs had thrown a “bottle of alcohol” down onto the ground in front of our door. He said that the man definitely did not like any of his neighbors, and he told me that I should not confront him to avoid starting a fight, as he was intoxicated. I overheard a bit of the conversation, and he expressed hate toward many of his neighbors, including some racial slurs toward specfic African-Americans, as well as Hispanics who live in the area. As the officer also said, apparently, the music could be heard from the parking lot. A few minutes after talking to the officer on the phone, the man came and knocked on my door. He knocked for a few seconds, then paused for about thirty seconds, repeating this three or four times afterward, getting slightly louder each time. I did not answer the door. Eventually, he got frustrated and said very angrily under his breath “Motherf**ker!” before leaving.
Top 2008 Albums! (10 of them!)

Holy SHIT it was hard to pick albums this year! Here’s what I had to say last year:
Every year must have its mandatory top 10 list. I normally listen to a few certain albums a year, and when I listen to those albums years later, and they remind me of that year/time/certain feeling. So here are my favorite/most listened to albums this year. Hopefully when I listen to these later, they will remind me of the better times of this year. Also, it’s in reverse numerical order. Kind of like some sort of stupid countdown…. One last note before we start: A lot of people choose the top 10 2007 albums list as all the albums released in 2007. Well I don’t know that I even have any CDs released in 2007 other than In Rainbows or The Dethalbum (and Cannibal! Which didn’t make it onto the list! Shit!). That’s because none of my favorite bands released anything good this year. Nobody in general did. It’s been the year of shite-indie-bands-that-sound-exactly-the-same-as-every-other-shite-indie-band and way-too-much-screamin’-metal.
So yeah, just pretend I said that about this year too. Actually, a few of these did actually come out this year, or in 2007… Some are even left over from 2007, in that, I started listening to them then, and continued listening to them a lot in 2008. Anyway… I had a really REALLY hard time picking. At first, I was like “What the fuck am I going to pick? I can only think of 2 albums (now the top 2)… ANYWAY. JUST READ.
10. Ben Folds-Rockin’ the Suburbs
Pretty good! I got this album a while ago, and had always known Fred Jones, Part 2 (with John McCrea from Cake!!!), but I never realized how talented and funny Ben was until I met my wonderful girlfriend Julia. Anyway, it’s a really entertaining, catchy album, even if it is a bit pop at times.
9. John C. Reilly-Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story
A collection of joke songs, kind of… But some of them are actually really damn good! In fact, most of them are pretty damn good, whether they were created for a parody movie or not… A lot of this reminds me of driving around in my car and singing at the top of my lungs… I would always have to warm up with other songs on this album before I could really get at the stronger ones like A Life Without You (Is No Life at All).
8. Jon Brion-Synecdoche, New York
It was such a hard pick between this and Eternal Sunshine, but I chose this because I’m still addicted to it. And with Eternal Sunshine, I skip over a lot of the non-score songs (not Beck though!!)… Anyway, aside from this being a perfect movie, I also feel that the soundtrack is pretty fucking amazing too.
7. Radiohead-8 Outtakes from Anesiac
While not much of an official album… In fact, I’m not sure if it was ever released… Anyway, this is one of the best collections of Radiohead’s songs out there. It’s a lot better than Amnesiac and Hail to the Thief, the two albums it falls between… What a relaxing album. I must thank my friend Caroline for emphasizing how amazing this is.
6. YMCK-Family Music
Again, a really hard choice to say whether this was more prominent/favored than Family Racing. I chose this because I know all the songs a lot better. Family Racing still feels a bit more… Which is a bit odd, since I listened to them about the same amount… Maybe that makes the other one better. But this one has stuck with me more, which is why I chose it. So fuck off if you don’t like it.
5. Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds-Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!!
My favorite Nick Cave album in a long time! This goes particularly well with Grinderman. Anyway, again, I associate these both with driving A LOT. I remember listening to these on my trips to/from Flagstaff/Tucson. Good times!
4. KoRn-Untitled
Just when I thought I would never get back into KoRn, they come together and create a masterpiece. It probably never would’ve happened if not for the last track… And of course, seeing Jonathan Davis perform with a mind-blowing acoustic group in early December of last year.
3. Local H-Ham Fisted
Nearly forgot about this one! I had never really hard this album, but when I heard Local H play Feed in L.A., I knew I had to get into it… That song, for being composed primarily of like two riffs, is AMAZING!
2. Bumblefoot-Abnormal
Whoa. Just whoa! When I first heard this, I thought it SUCKED compared to Normal, but then it really grew on me. It’s a completely different way of organizing an album and bringing together a collection and making a concept album… And it fits perfectly. Once again, Bumblefoot has outdone himself!
1. Local H-12 Angry Months
Wahhh. One of my favorite albums ever. I listened to this album once or twice a day pretty much every day during May and June. Almost every day, when I’d drive to work, I’d listen to this… So I associate a lot of it with where I would be when I was driving. For example, I’d almost always get to “Jesus Christ…” right around when I was arriving at work. And then, when I’d go on lunch, I’d continue the album, so, particularly, the last 4 tracks, remind me of going to Taco Bell or Kyoto Bowl (which has horrible food, but I can still taste it when I listen to some of these!)… I love all of these songs and almost always have since I heard it, but Hand to Mouth brings back the most emotions in me.
Honorable mention:
Beck-Odelay
Blur-Blur
Jon Brion-Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Carter Burwell-Burn After Reading
Paul Gilbert-Silence Followed by a Deafening Roar
Paul Gilbert & Freddie Nelson-United States
Jonny Greenwood-There Will Be Blood
Grinderman-Grinderman
Liars-They Were Wrong, So We Drowned
Local H-The No Fun EP
The Offspring-Rise & Fall, Rage & Grace
Serj Tankian-Elect the Dead
Roger Waters-The Pros & Cons of Hitch Hiking
YMCK-Family Racing
Hope you enjoyed that. Not much else to say. Haha… Looking at the scene in general, it hasn’t changed a lot from 2007. The biggest problem though? Going to last.fm and seeing that the number 1 artist right now is Coldplay. What. The. Fuck…. Is wrong. With. YOU. FUCKING. IDIOTS. No, I’m just kidding. I mean, everyone is entitled to their own opinion in music… But seriously. Coldplay? Really?! REALLY?!
God… WHy is Britney at number 17?! And Oasis at 13?! GAHHH

At the age of thirty, will I activate an electric radio in my bath-tub, after reflecting on my sad, failed life? Or will I activate my memory and a bottle of expensive wine, and recall the night I sat down and finally Activated my ambition, turning it’s fantastical powers to a career with your fantastical company?

My cement house cube is an echo chamber. It would sound great miked live, but It is too loud to practice in, because it seems the echoes are what leak through the windows and doors and such.
I need Ideas on how to hang or Prop tapestries and/or thick rugs on the walls. By the way, I think it is near impossible to hang stuff on my wall for one of two reasons.
1. The walls are probably cement.
2. I am (maybe?) not allowed to put holes in the wall due to my landlord.

SECOND DAY CONTINUED. Um. We ate dinner at a really nice, expensive restaurant. Easily $100 a plate. And there were 9 of us. Yeah. Anyway, it was my stepdad’s birthday… I think I had some scallops and shrimp dish and holy fuck was it good.
As you might notice, I am writing at 6-7 in the morning. THIS IS NOT AN ERROR. I woke up at around 4, unable to get back to sleep, having gone to bed at approximately 1 (much later than I had originally wanted, too!)… I did sleep for 14 hours the night before, though. And the night before that, you ask? 0 hours. Before that, I went to bed at about 3 AM+ Phoenix time (midnight in Hawaii). SO AS YOU CAN SEE, MY SLEEP SCHEDULE IS PRETTY FUCKED UP RIGHT NOW…. Ugh.
THIRD DAY. Went snorkling for the second time, this time from a boat! It was pretty cool… Except that I almost threw up again. We went to ____ (Hawaiian name, hard to remember/pronounce) Crater. There were some totally cute babes there, but I guess I am bad at approaching them? It was around this time that it really started to sink in that it sucks being young and horny and single? And not ballsy enough to have anonymous sex? Also, it doesn’t help to vacation in a romantic getaway area during this period of my life??
ANYWAY. it was Mai Tai night, so I had a little bit to drink, with the aide of my parents. At dinner that night, my mom was very intent on my helping to clean up afterward. I’m fine with doing it, but I just felt like shit. I ate too much and was a bit dehydrated, I think. But anyway. My mom was really intent on helping out and being sure to thank the shit out of everyone throughout the whole trip. That got annoying fast. “Tell Dave thank you!” as I was about to. Like… It makes it seem less sincere coming from me if I say it after she tells me to out loud in front of the person, don’t you think? It is also demeaning to the point that I feel like a goddamn child!
FOURTH DAY. Didn’t do a damn thing all day! Jessie introduced me to the wonderful world that is Blockles. I would encourage all of our readers (Jake (before, I used to joke about this, but now I think the two of us may literally be the only ones that read it, due to recent events)) to sign up… It’s not a painful process and it’s a fun game. If anyone wants to add me, my name is Harisn on there. It stands for “He’s always rocking into sexalicious noise”!
We went to a Luau, which was pretty cool, and tried these fucking awesome drinks… I FOUND IT! I found the website for it. It is called the “Jackson Chameleon” and it is “made with Sierra Mist and Honeydew Melon Syrup”! WOO.
At some point, on one of these days, I bought one of those things you put… stuff on… When you’re cooking. It starts with a T. I always forget what it’s called, but then remember 5 minutes later. We’ll see if that happens.
Also at the Luau, we were standing in line to get in, and I was wearing shorts mind you (the whole vacation!! (I never wear shorts because I feel weird in them(I also wore only light-colored shirts(Again, I feel weird in them… I never have as much confidence))) and this kid drops this glass in front of me and IT EXPLODES!!! Anyway, the glass shrapnel flew straight into my leg and cut it. It was gross.
It was also around then that I noticed I was started to grow a unibrow and my confidence and self image dropped even lower.
BUT. I met this cute girl named Beth. And her sister Sarah. They were 19 and 12, respectively. Beth might’ve had implants. But she was funny, charming, good looking, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, she had a good head on her shoulders. Not into drugs or self destruction and that kind of shit. After talking for about an hour and a half at the hot tub, we went our separate ways. She’s in Maui until August, and she said we’d totally see each other at the pool later, but we never did. I saw her one time the next day, but she was with her parents, and I felt awkward approaching her in that situation.
I’m kind of mad at myself for not just talking to her anyway, because it really sucked not having anyone to talk to most of the time in Hawaii. It was rather lonely. I don’t think I said this before, but I was the only one without a partner of some sort. That is, of the people I was in Hawaii with, there were 3 married couples and a pair of sisters. I was the odd one out. And it seemed that we got along really well! Oh well. A lot of the downtime during my vacation (and I must say, a good 90% of it was downtime!) was spent being bummed about not being able to talk to/approach girls and how I felt so isolated from the rest of the world and how I missed my friends and blah blah blah.
What day are we on? FIFTH DAY. Right? Yes. Went to another beach, supposedly THE nicest one in the world (you may recall earlier that we went to the second nicest beach)… It was all right. Not so crowded. My stepdad ran into someone he knew in the parking lot, oddly enough. THIS time I brought my iPod. It was nice, but I ended up getting sunburnt. From here on, I learned to bring my iPod for the downtime where I had nothing else to do. I didn’t even bother trying snorkeling anymore after my last 2 experiences. I finished the Dr. Drew and Adam book, and started up on Kurt Vonnegut’s Happy Birthday, Wanda June, which was just a terrific read!… I am reading his stuff chronologically (see my list of things to do before I die… WHICH I UPDATED A FEW DAYS AGO BY THE WAY! A LOT!!!), but I screwed up on this one. I think I read somewhere that it was written in 1960, when, in fact, it was written in 1970. Ah well. I will just re-read it when the time comes around. It is a play, and a damn good one at that.
SIXTH DAY. …Finished the Vonnegut play…. Hung out all day… Not a lot to do, really.
SEVENTH DAY. Our last day!… My counting seems off. But anyway, we went to the volcano… I don’t remember which one. It hasn’t been active for like 400 years, but it was really cool. It was mostly driving there, so, again, more iPod-listening… And THEN we waited at the airport and blah blah blah came home. This was a red eye flight though, which means it was over night. It was one of the most torturous experiences I could’ve imagined. I just COULD NOT SLEEP. Much like now! I literally got like no sleep on the flight. At most, maybe a few minutes of really light sleep, but it was horrible. Confined to a tiny little seat for 6 hours trying to sleep… The kid behind me was such a pain in the ass too and kept hitting my chair somehow, and I would’ve said something were his dad not such a freaking dick too! Yelling at kids for opening windows and the like. I mean, I understand not wanting kids to do that, but he did it in the most dickish way possible.
I have to go to work in an hour. I’ve been programming a lot of the day, trying to get this stupid Earthbound theme to work, but alas, it doesn’t want to work. I will try again sometime in the near future, but I don’t want to waste another day. Today was supposed to be focused on taking my car to the shop to get the window fixed, but I guess it needed a new motor that had to be found and ordered. There was only one left at their “source”, and, with labor, it would’ve cost me $347. So I told him I’d think about it/wait. But I DID get to eat at my favorite restaurant, Tokyo Express, which is nearby there…. Other than that, I’d say this day (3 hours of sleep, probably somewhere around 4 hours of programming with very little progress, not getting my car fixed or getting much nearer to it getting fixed) is going to go down in the books as a FAILURE.

Name your top 10 artists on last.fm
1. Local H
2. Ballboy
3. Radiohead
4. Muse
5. Pink Floyd
6. Dethklok
7. Queen
8. Paul Gilbert
9. Buckethead
10. Cake
Now answer the questions according to the numbers:
What was the first song you ever heard by 6?
Duncan Hills Coffee Jingle… Same as everyone else.
What is your favourite album of 2?
Club Anthems, probably
What is your favourite lyric that 5 has sung?
I had a very hard time with this, but:
“And if I show you my dark side, will you still hold me tonight?” from The Final Cut
How many times have you seen 4 live?
Heh heh. THREE TIMES! WOOO
What is your favorite song by 7?
Holy fucking shit, seriously? This isn’t quite accurate, but I am going to have to go with, for right now at least, March of the Black Queen from Queen II…. Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy and The Millionaire Waltz and Dreamer’s Ball are all VERY close behind though!
What is a good memory you have involving the music of 10?
This reminds me a lot of the movie Sideways. It’s not what happens while you’re listening to Cake that is the special occassion, but listening to Cake is the special occasion itself! Specifically, I refer to when I first discovered Fashion Nugget… Or when I first discovered Comfort Eagle. Each time I listen to them, I am brought back to when I first discovered them and the amazing feeling I had.
Is there a song of 3 that makes you sad?
Not particularly, though they are all very touching. Many make me feel reminiscent, but not quite sad exactly. And many often tend to put me in a mood that is difficult to explain through words. That said, if I had to pick one, it would probably be True Love Waits.
What is your favorite lyric that 2 has sung?
Haha! What a tough one. While I love the title of Leave the Earth Behind and Take a Walk into the Sunshine, I don’t know that there is one specific line or phrase that stands out from the entire song, as it is all so beautiful and perfect. I guess I will have to go with my favorite funny song, Disney’s Ice Parade: “You left your notes on lesbian sex on the fishtank in the hall”
What is your favorite song by 9?
This one is tough because, even though he is at number 9, I’m not all THAT fond of him. He just has a lot of songs and I’ve attempted to get through all of them, but I’m not that close at all. Also, I feel he doesn’t really write that many songs as much as exercises in certain keys with the same licks over and over… Which is, admittedly, pretty harsh. He is an amazing guitarist and I am not worthy. Anyway, even though I can’t really listen through the whole song, let’s go with Moths to Flame just because it has quite possibly the greatest heavy metal intro to any song ever.
How did you get into 3?
I’m not even sure! Jake has always liked them, and I think my first real experience listening to them was being creeped out with Hail to the Thief on repeat all night long, or Luke’s performance of Fake Plastic Trees. Somewhere along the line, I downloaded Creep and their other singles and fell in love.
What was the first song you heard by 1?
Oh, God. Like it’s not obvious. Bound for the Floor.
What is your favorite song by 4?
Pff!!! At first this seemed difficult, but then I remembered Micro Cuts. No other song can hold a candle to it ever.
How many times have you seen 9 live?
Only once
What is a good memory you have involving 2?
Probably my best memory is walking around or sitting around listening to the ballboy podcasts and listen to Gordon’s stories and anecdotes and just feeling like I know him.
Is there a song of 8 that makes you sad?
Haha. He doesn’t have many sad songs. The only one that really strikes me as sad is Wrong Man… And I guess some Mr. Big songs make me sad that he quit Racer X for them. Haha.
What is your favorite album of 5?
No doubt The Final Cut, though The Wall and Dark Side of the Moon and Animals are all pretty amazing. Wish You Were Here has its moments too (that is, the first and last song (the same song))
What is your favorite lyric that 3 has sung?
Fuuuuuck. Again, this is like the ballboy song mentioned above, where I am in love with the whole song. But this song, particularly, the lyrics! I must go for Motion Picture Soundtrack… If I had to pick a particularly verse, I guess I’ll do the second one: “Stop sending letters/letters always get burned/It’s not like the movies/They fed us on little white lies”
What is your favorite song of 1?
Halcyon Days (Where Were You Then?)
What is your favorite song of 10?
This whole survey is so fucking hard. Sorry, but it is a 5 way tie between Shadow Stabbing, Comfort Eagle, Stickshifts and Safetybelts, Nugget, and Italian Leather Sofa
How many times have you seen 8 live?
Only once, but let’s hope he goes on G3 again
What is your favorite album of 1?
Origin of Symmetry
What is a great memory you have considering 9?
Eh… I guess seeing him live, more than anything. Not really many other memories involving him.
What was the first song you heard by 8?
I Like Rock, because I heard it sounded like Andrew W.K.
What is your favorite cover by 2?
They only do like three covers that I know of! And I am sure as hell not choosing the Springsteen song… So I guess Tell Me.
As seen on MySpace, top 10 SNES games!

This is my own personal top 10 SNES games, as requested by Dru. I think you’ll find it QUITE agreeable.
1. Earthbound
2. Super Mario World
3. Chrono Trigger
4. The Legend Of Zelda – A Link To The Past
5. Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
6. Super Metroid
7. Legend of the Mystical Ninja
8. Donkey Kong Country
9. Super Mario Kart
10. Kirby Super Star
Mind you, I had only played a few of the Final Fantasy games for SNES, and they didn’t stand out for me that much. Not as much as Chrono Trigger, at least.
Also, admittedly, this was harder than it looks. Once I got to number 4, I was all like “Shit. Now what?” and then it just became a list of my favorites, rather than the top 10.
But! I still think it to be quite a respectable list, as all of the games listed above regularly appear in top 10 SNES games lists. Also, Super Mario All-Stars was almost included, but I figured it didn’t really count.
Thinks yours is better? (It’s not)
